Our fixed awnings, window awnings, gazebos, and custom creations are all built on-site in our local shop, which allows for greater quality control and quicker delivery times.
The custom-built structures are also designed to integrate seamlessly with the aluminum railings sold through our sister company, Aluma-Worx. This gives you a space that looks and feels complete, cohesive, and premium.
A local family affair
Lalonde Awnings was founded in 2004 in Embrun, Ontario, by bilingual husband-and-wife team Shaun and Rachelle. They have always taken an active, engaged approach to running the business, communicating directly with their customers, and never hesitating to get their hands dirty, helping out with building, installing, and sewing when things get busy.
Some company milestones
Acquiring Ottawa’s oldest awning company: In early 2020, just when the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to wreak havoc on the world, they bought veteran company Ottawa Awnings when the owner was ready to retire.- Creating a new company: Around the same time, the railings and decking segment of the business was spun off to become its own company, Aluma-Worx, focusing exclusively on aluminum railings and decks. Though it’s a separate entity, Shaun and Rachelle are very much involved in its day-to-day operations.
- Introducing exclusive products: In 2025, the company began offering two new products -- a retractable awning and a retractable pergola -- that offer great value without skimping on premium features.
